Alternative Energy – Biofuels •Need for renewable energy is growing
•Biofuels plants are often located in rural areas – near biomass
•There are currently 7 biofuels plants in operation or under construction in Kentucky including Agri-Energy in Hopkinsville
•Feedstock used in production of biofuels such as corn, soybeans and wheat, which are readily available in our community
•Our workforce has manufacturing skills that can be transferrable to the skill set required by biofuels plants
•Ft. Campbell each month has soldiers separating with high technical skill trade needed for biofuels plants
