Sharon Butts, Executive Director for the Cadiz-Trigg County Economic Development Commission accepted to the TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) 2011 Class Rural Leadership Institute.
TVA is pleased to be hosting the 2011 Tennessee Valley Rural Leadership Institute. This is an exciting new program for rural economic developers to connect their organization’s strategy and day-to-day work with the goals of their communities.
While many professionals have attained years of formal education, many have not had any formal training on how to be an effective economic development leader. Most successful companies require their upper-level employees to attend leadership training. In order to think more like these business leaders of prospective companies or existing industries, it only makes sense that economic developers attend similar professional development courses.
This training is designated to teach you how to more effectively lead volunteers, partner organizations, businesses, elected officials and citizens to ensure long-term success. The ability of Rural America to compete and stay abreast of the pace of technology, communication, and education is essential to the very future of rural communities’ growth and success.
Sharon will be participating in a series of classes over 4 months in Nashville, TN at the TVA Economic Development Center.
